“People, look east. The time is near of the crowning of the year. Make your house fair as you are able,
Trim the hearth and set the table. People, look east and sing today: Love, the guest, is on the way.”
Every Advent as the days grow shorter and colder, we prepare ourselves for the new beginning that comes each year at Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of Christ. One of the ways we traditionally prepare is to make our indoor spaces more beautiful with evergreen garlands, wreaths, poinsettias, candles, and light. Can you help us prepare the United Parish sanctuary for the Season of Advent and Christmas this year?
After worship on November 24, volunteers will work together to wrap the pillars with greenery, hang wreaths, put up the UP Advent Wreath and Christmas, dress the pews, fluff the artificial greenery, and put candles in the windows. All hands and all ages are welcome to help! We’ll put on some merry Christmas tunes and provide a light meal to make the work extra fun!
Help us “make our house fair” for the Advent of Christ in our community!
See the
task list attached and let me know if there is something that interests you. There are tasks for all sorts of skills that you did not even know you had! We especially need people to help wrap the pillars.
All tools, materials, ladders, food, music, and encouragement will be provided.
Thanks in advance for your help.
