As we all prepare for Christmas, we invite you to help us bring light, life, and joy into our Sanctuary by decorating one of the 33 window wells.
Last year, almost two-thirds of our sanctuary window wells were filled with the hopes and prayers of the United Parish congregation and our partnering organizations.
This year we are hoping to fill all of the windows! Our theme for Advent 2024 is “Traditions of Christmas.” Do you sing carols? Bake? Do crafts? Put up special decorations? Read a beloved children’s book? If traditions aren’t a big thing for you, you can start a new one with your United Parish family by recreating a part of the nativity story or making a beautiful display of lights and greenery. As always, just use your imagination!
There are a total of 33 windows of multiple sizes. The largest is 48”x15″; the smallest is 24”x14.” The window wells serve as heat vents, so items that dry out (or melt) should not be used. Battery-powered candles have been placed in each window. Let us know if you want to participate by contacting Patty S. or Susan DeSelms at susan@upbrookline.org). Remember that the window wells get hot and can melt wax candles.
All decorations should be taken back home by on or before January 5, 2025.
Let the preparations and traditions continue!
